Walk For the Animals

Arroooo! S’up dog … Beautiful day, beautiful people, awesome animals. Everywhere you looked, there you were.

barBayQ

It’s an honor to do this show, such a great cause, and such a great staff of volunteers. Larry Byrne was simply incredible on mandolin and Ali sang beautifully on Who Found Who. Thanks to everyone for coming out (Ern, Jen, Laurie, Erica, Jamie, Stevie, Tommy, Margie, Michelle, et al. )

9 Songwriter Series at 49 West

Fun night as always at 49 West with a talented group of songwriters but truly the highpoint had to be Justin Trawick and Alison Kelly doing the acoustic version of ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’ … no really, the acoustic version, and yes, it was kicking.

Virginia Fly Fishing and Wine Festival

Big grins on our faces when we saw that the stage was situated next to the Carolina barbeque stand. Larry Byrne and I wolfed down a couple of sandwiches and some coffee and then had a blast playing for the next three hours. Great crowd, real nice folks, and always a pleasure working with Dana, who runs the festival, and Scott, who got us all set up. Larry and his mandolin laid down sweet melodies all afternoon. Can’t wait ’till next time.

9 Songwriter Series

The 9 at 49 West was memorable for many reasons, not the least of which was seeing Jason Ager play tuba and piano at the same time … and kickin’ it! Great cast of songwriters.

Beans in the Belfry

So nice to see so many folks out at Beans in the Belfry Saturday, what a great night! It was an (impromptu) honor to be a part of Cathy’s homecoming and so nice to make new friends. Thanks to Michelle for making me part of that. Great to see old friends there as well, you’ve no idea how much that means to me. Special thanks to Amanda and Tim for making us all feel welcome. I’m looking forward to playing there again in July. I do have to mention that the sunset as I drove West was incredible that night. It kept dipping behind the mountains and I saw the ‘fire on the mountain’ silhouette over and over again as I rose and fell on the highway. Love coming out to the mountains!

49 West

What a night! Thanks to all for coming out, it was a full house and an awesome audience. Special thanks to Lynn Hollyfield and Larry Byrne for joining me. They are amazing musicians and it’s both an honor and very humbling to share the stage with such talent. And special thanks to Justin Trawick for opening the show, he was sensational! A big thanks to Frank Kayser for great sound. A big thanks to the staff at 49 West, especially Ryan, for making us all feel so welcome.

Edith May’s Paradise

Caroline Ferrante and the Whole Magilla were awesome and it was an honor to open the show for them. This was my first time playing here and I was impressed by the room and the wonderful audience. Hope to be back!

Brewer’s Alley

Great night of music. Thanks to Rod for playing harmonica and to Ali for singing. Great sound by Todd Walker. Brilliant poetry from Rod and John Holly and a nice set from featured act Domenic Cicala. Jimbow’s piano prelude was awesome, sounded like Chick Corea at times. And does anyone play better train whistle than Ron Goad? I think not.

The Barns at Hamilton Station

Wow, an awesome audience and what a gorgeous room! Rustic ol’ barn in a mesmerizing country setting; listening to the music ringin’ in the rafters while I stood in front of a fire and watched the cats coming and going each time the door swung open. Thanks to Susan, Hosannah, Steve, et al. for having us out there.
